Our Founding Story
B.B. Engineering was born from a deeply personal commitment to restoring independence, mobility, and the spirit of adventure for individuals with physical disabilities. More than four decades ago, a life-changing accident left our founder’s cousin, Bud, paralyzed from the waist down. Despite the prognosis, Bud’s determination never wavered. With the support of mobility aids, he worked tirelessly to reclaim an active, fulfilling life—one that included his lifelong passion for the outdoors.
Over the years, shared experiences in the field, whether on a goose hunt in Illinois or navigating the rugged terrain of the Arizona desert, highlighted both the challenges and the possibilities for mobility-impaired outdoor enthusiasts. These moments offered a clear insight: with the right equipment, individuals like Bud could continue to explore, engage, and pursue the activities they love.
Our Founding Story (Continued)
That realization stayed with our founder. While publishing an ADA-focused newspaper and later restoring and equipping two jeeps with mobility-assisting equipment, he recognized the growing need for purpose-built, accessible transportation. Vehicles designed not just to accommodate physical limitations, but to elevate quality of life.
The inspiration for our company emerged from these experiences and from a vision fueled by family, perseverance, and the belief that disabilities should never limit one’s ability to enjoy the world. After relocating to New Mexico, and with the strong encouragement and support of his wife, Grace, our founder committed to creating a new generation of mobility vehicles engineered for freedom, independence, and outdoor adventure.
